Not to belabor this but that's why I said "tend to". I've seen both
ends of the spectrum.

I sold my 300D directly to a young woman (rather than shipping it).
She was ambivalent about buying the grip I had for it until she saw
and hefted it. She said, "Ooo, it's nice and small!" and decided to
buy it as well. Specifically said the 10/20D were "too big" for her.
She shoots weddings and portraits and is really enjoying the 300D last
I checked with her.

OTOH, decades ago I made the mistake of whining about the weight of my
wedding kit to the woman who ran the lab that processed my pix. She
shook her head, walked into the back room and reappeared with her rig
-- an RB67 with Lumedyne flash and battery. Handed it to me and said,
"If I can shoot weddings with this, you darn well oughta be able to
too!" Given that she was relatively small, thirty years older than me
and in poor health she made her point. I will say that LOTS of the
older photographers I know have serious back problems. Whether the
rate is higher than non-photographers I don't know.

It may be a simple matter of personal ergonomics. I've lost track of
the number of comments I've read from OM owners who say they like 'em
because they have small hands. [Hey! OM content!]
