Oh yes look at that 200/1.8 (it's 4.8 incidentally) - and they don't  
even make it anymore. The sharpest lens that they ever tested.  
Generally anything over a rating of 4 can be considered a bit special  
which makes the 50/1.8 a remarkable buy at just over a hundred dollars.
The site isn't too up to date - the 16-35mm/2.8L and 17-40mm/4L  
aren't even listed and the 50/1.0L isn't shown as discontinued.
The other advantage is weight - the L grade zooms tend to be heavy  
beasts while many of the primes are quite light.
