As stated before, GN is always calculated indoors
with certain reflecting bit essential to it. And
a little optimism always was added too by the flash
makers. Only few were precise, METZ being one
reputedly being more serious and true to reality.
That is why a flash meter comes in handy in critical
situations.

I doubt the usefulness of such action. It always was
that way and it always be be ...
