[OM] Question about FL flashes

Should an FL-40 be able to talk to an E-300?  Obviously, I won't get the
super FP mode because FL-40s don't do that, but I'd expected TTL auto.  All
I get is normal auto and manual, flash fires in sync but camera doesn't
seem to know it's there.
