There were a very small number of genuine gold-plated OM's with gold
lenses produced by Oly as a present for European (?) dealers. Just 20
I think. Can't remember which model but I'm sure that someone here
will post the url. They are hyper-collectible, especially the really
rare one with the gilded 50/1.4 lens. Thus there are genuine gold
OM's and home-brewed ones which are genuine OM's but not genuine Gold
OM's!
Thus, we are dealing with genuine produced by Olympus Gold-plated OM,
genuine OM refinished in gold plate by clever reseller, genuine gold
paint on a genuine OM, genuine OM with top and bottom plate stripped
to 'gold' finish (laquered brass), genuine OM scam.........
