Controlled testing is the key. Correct battery, quality film, quality
processing, calibrated scanner? There are lots of areas here to make
good exposure go bad and vice versa. What battery is in the camera? A
625A or 625U (alkaline) is the wrong type, 1.55V and will cause up to 3
stops underexposure. But you indicate that your exposures are over, due
to the sunny 16 rule. So if the alkaline battery IS in the camera,
you've got other problems. It is very hard to tell what the problem is
with all these variables.
