The DZ50/2 is 1:2, with a 4/3 sensor it is 1:1, just cover the whole frame
without the need of an extension tube. I'm not sure if F6.3 is the best
aperture for the 50/2 but I belive from F4-F6.3 the different will be very
small.

For WB, I just set the E-1 in auto mode and adjust it in PSCS during RAW
conversion. You can put the slide side by side and adjust the color, I think
it is the best way (at least to me).

For slide copy you may not need TTL, you can just set the E-1 at ISO100,
manual mode (eg. 1/160s F5.6), use a normal exposed slide, change the flash
to slide distance until you get 1/3 to 1/2 over exposure. After fixing the
distance you can just start to copy without worrying about the exposure.

The slightly over exposed image can be adjusted back to normal during RAW
conversion and you can get less noise in the shadow area. I had under
estimated the light capture capability of E-1, actually the slide sample I
did was a high contrast one and still gets almost everything in (and the
copy shot was even around 0.5 stop under!).
