Not a bad way to wait it out!

Good to hear about your experiences. I had gotten the impression from
others who had used Zuikos on Can$ns via adapter that it's really a
non-starter, which means you're really buying into the lenses in a major
way. My impression is that the Zuikos work somewhat better on the Olympus
E series cameras.

This is where a digital prime lens would be great -- something with a DOF
scale so that you can actually do some hyperfocal distance shooting.

With the C-8080 it is possible in spot meter and spot focus modes to
compose the shot and move the spots sort of where you want them (I say
"sort of" because the range is pretty limited). This gives you an
opportunity in a somewhat 3-dimensional subject like a flower to choose the
precise focus point you want. Roughly a third into the depth of the flower
will get you about all the lens can give. It's not a perfect system, but
honestly it's not much less than I manage to do most of the time with an OM
body and macro lens with results that usually suit me fine.

Have you done any macro stuff with the FZ20? While I prefer the C-8080 for
this, the FZ20 focuses amazingly close in normal modes. The C-8080 feels
more like a 50/3.5 and the FZ20 more like a 90/2 in terms of working distances.
