As a Dyson fan Brit in the US I was quite surprised that Dyson hadn't taken
over the market in the US in the way they have done back in the UK. They are
a product that you really have to try to see the difference. The experience
that Walt has had is not unusual, most people when they get one are
converted and will almost always tell you that Dyson are the best. The
prices in the US are perhaps not as competitive as in the UK but the product
works just as well. It took some of Wedding gift exchanging to get our one
but my wife is convinced of the Dysons superiority in use. My father has had
one for something like 4 years now and apart from a warranty replacement of
the brush bar its performed without a hitch. The brush bar issue was a
surprising design flaw with the DC07 when it first came out, its design of
bristle spacing actually allowed the vacuums power to stop the brush bar
from rotating. Before they mailed the official replacement their service
engineer just plucked out every fifth bristle clump to fix the problem.

Anyway if you can try one! Its fun and it looks like a fisher price toy (I
hear you can now get a mini Dyson for kids now complete with the spinning BB
balls like the toy lawnmowers). Walt is right it almost makes vacuuming fun
:)

Walt, we're glad you like the vacuum....but after the statement "It actually
makes vacuuming fun", you may need to get out a little more.
:-))
Incidently, keep us up to date on the progress of the Dyson and how you like
it.
