You can safely connect one set of C cells to all the output pins of the battery
pack without any Schottky diodes. The T45 has a clever design which greatly
increases longevity+ reliability of battery pack. If one or two strings of
cells stop working or if one or two of the invertors stop working the flash
will still function although recharge the flash cap slower.
Mark Dapoz's site has a pdf file I made, with the charger schematic. This also
shows the pin outs of the battery connector.
