I was writting a reply just to warn about this possibility, but a sudden
backout sent my answer to nowhere.
It is sometimes difficult to determine where the spot is. Recently, once I
had ruled out it was on the focusing screen, I couldn't see it on the prism
surface, looking through the mirror chamber using good light and a big
magnifying glass.
Looking through the viewfinder without the screen, the black spot became
tranparent. When putting the screen into the mirror chamber, whatever its
position, it became black and visible again. I guess I removed it using the
brush that comes with the focusing screen, since I have no geese around. It
was a rather stubborn black spot, probably coming from the mirror foam.
Finally, it isn't there anymore, and it seems I avoided prism scratching.
Honestly I can't tell how did I clean it.

BTW, anyone has/had a tiny arthropod living and wandering happy inside the
finder assembly?
I was told they feed of film. Must be true, since mine starved during a long
period I wasn't taking pictures. Better than using a piretroid ;-)

Regards,

Fernando.
