I was almost at the point of ordering the C-5060 this morning from B&H.
I stopped when I realized that the film purchases I was contemplating to
fill out the order were getting me more excited in prospect.
I shot a complete roll of Kodachrome 25 this morning among the day
lilies on the piece of Iowa River bank that is my back yard. It's now
in the mail to Fairlawn, NJ. I think I've got about 10 rolls left.
Those 10 rolls are a microcosm. I'm now trying to shoot them before
Kodak gives up processing Kodachrome, not that I know when that will be,
but I do think it's a when not an if.
It's been a contradictory day so far. If I had the choice between
ordering up bricks of Kodachrome 25 and a new digicam, there's no
question about what would give me more pleasure. Still, I expect to be
in photography for a while. The future beckons and will no doubt have
its own pleasant surprises.
