I think the only way to avoid confusion when discussing the behaviour of
lenses of whatever focal length on different formats is to refer to the
Angle of View of the lens.  As Dan Sepke said a couple of days ago.  The AoV
will clearly define what you will see with the given lens on a given format.
And note that a 180mm MF lens has a different AoV from a 180mm lens for 135
format.
