Nice work Mike.  It's amazing to me that they would let you get that close.
How far away from civilization were you? Are foxes hunted and trapped there?
Around here foxes are very hard to approach and you usually get fleeting
glances at close range. I had a den under my house for a while and would
only see them through he window and usually in poor light. My neighbors saw
them more than I did.

Friday i went looking for the Fox family and brought along the 300/2.8
and 2xa and 1.4xa + tripod. I soon spotted Mama Fox  with a rabbit in
her mouth headed off across the praire. She led me right to her front
door. Today only two kits were in evidence out of the original nine. I
set up the tripod without extending the legs and crawled into position
about 20-30 feet from the action. They pretty much ignored me. Most of
the shots are with the 300 + 2xa, the close ups with both the 2xa and
1.4xa stacked. Used supra 400.
