The mountain west may be very cold but you can dress for the dry cold and be
comfortable. Higher humidity makes the cold weather in the southeast feel
much colder and adding more clothes doesn't seem to help much. Those ice
storms are awful but they do create some beautiful photographic
opportunities. The sun shining through the hanging ice can really be
beautiful....the problem is getting the sun. /jim

I never felt as cold as when I left the dry cold of -40 deg F in Wyoming
and moved to the southeast.  I had no short sleeve shirts to my name
(needed for most of the year here) but sure could have used the long
underwear again!

I don't miss shoveling the snow, but I wish we didn't get the ice storms
that seem to replace the snow here in the south.
