I really think that color cast on JPEG is not a problem. Each camera maker has its distinctive look. Canon has a warm look. Nikon is very cool. Fuji looks like their film. The point of having a DSLR is to be able to get the extra quality of a raw file and you control the color balance in Photoshop.

Phil tends not to like Olympus cameras, period. Take what he says about them with a grain of salt. This gets discussed a lot on the Oly forums at DPReview.

Phil deals regularly with partisans of Canon, Nikon, Fuji, and now Olympus who accuse him of bias because he does not always say what they want to hear. His site is probably the only one without an axe to grind. He loved the E-10, as I remember, and he lists the E-1 and a half dozen other Olympus models as recommended cameras. Plus his is one of the few to offer objective tests to back up his opinions. It seems to me that he works very hard to be objective and fair.
