People also modify digital cameras to provide cooling for long exposures. I
recently saw an article about use of a modified Olympus C2000Z that was
being used for astro photography. I think it was in Sky and Telescope

Don't fancy telescope cool their CCD's to reduce noise? I think one
of the noise issues with the E-10 was due to how hot it got.
