Radovan asked me to forward this to the list. Thanks to John and Clint for
their contributions to my T32 question.

Hi Dan,
some monthes ago i got an T32 with similar symptoms,
Like you i supposed it can be wrong lamp(and i tried to exchange), but i
could
analyse the problem with my OM-4 and i found out the
light-quench system of the flash doesnt work ( an object was always
overexposed except
the condition of f-stop border distance). So i downloaded the
schematic from famous and perfect Mark Dapoz's
http://olympus.dementia.org/Hardware/,
found possible problem and measured one el. part which
confirmed me my thoughts: burned Commutation condenser C104,
2u2/350V (film condenser).
Short cirquit of the C104 caused the leakage of the energy from
the main electrolytic condenser, so that couldnt be fully charged.
If you are educated in electronics, try to check this one( the biggest
yellow film condenser on the front board).
If your problem is the same like mine i can help you to solve it.
BTW, i doubt any Oly service will repair T32
for reasonable price .

PS: Can you post this to the list, I'm off-the list, just only reading daily
archieve.

Radek

Subject: [OM] T32 Question

Hi there all,

Just got an extra T32 but it has an issue.

Here is the problem as best I can describe. The charge lamp does not light
nor does the LED in a 2n viewfinder confirm charge. But the Auto check does
come on to confirm after both test fires (using the test button on the T32)
and on test fires from my 2n. I have another T32 and have confirmed that the
camera is not a fault. Also the set of batteries are fresh. It is whining as
I would expect when charging but even if left for a couple of minutes
doesn't declare ready.

My initial thought is that the neon lamp has failed, but would that stop the
LED confirming charge too? Or is it likely to be anything else that people
are aware of?

Thanks, Dan.
