Maybe you can travel a little more to the west, to Cantabria.
I went there in 1996 (OM-4 + 35/2 + two Tamrons). Santander seems a
"comfortable" city, and the 'valle del Pas' has really great viwes, IMHO.
I made several rolls of E100S there, now buried somewhere ;-)
