IRRC the Jena name was attached to the "eastern" part of the company
that was taken over by the Russians. There was an international lawsuit
where the Zeiss name was given to the "western" portion but the eastern
was allowed to still use it for a period. I think someone on the list
had a longer Jena zoom that they were quite happy with. A quick Google
search of the archives didn't turn up the old thread.
