[OM] Train watching

As a kid, wandering through an Erie-Lackawanna yard with my dad, an engineer
asked me if I'd ever been on an engine. "Sure," I said. Not to be outdone,
he asked if I'd ever DRIVEN one. (I think I was about 10.) He actually let
me move the thing about 50 yards. What are the odds that would happen today?
Many of my father's shots are wonderfully intimate. As you mentioned, those
days are long gone. At least in my neck of the woods.
