I have no knowledge about the Imacon he used but I suspected it is an old
equipment. The technologies up very fast, a three years old professional
tool could be poorer than a top consumer model of today. I have no problem
to get every bit of shadow details from my LS4000 scanner which claim to
have D-max of 4.2.
