Bill, I was just in the auto section of "G.I. Joe's" (a local Oregon/WA chain 
of sporting goods, clothing, auto parts stores).  Saw a little ionizing air 
freshener you plug into your cigar lighter/12V outlet on the dash.  You can let 
it work as is, or add scents as desired.  Might be worth a try.  Around $20, 
IIRC.
