I just spent a couple of afternoons looking for Grizz and didn't see any.
There was a sow hunting in the area along with four wolves. Something
(probably one or the other) was in a clump of trees and was making a cow elk
very nervous. It never came out in the open so all the observation was for
naught. Also spent some time looking for elk calves but didn't see any of
those either. The cows are still kegged up in the cool shady places for
calving. Will try again in early July. Lots of baby bison around and there
was a baby antelope almost in our yard when we got home. I saw one mountain
goat with a little one but they were laying still and were not very good
photo subjects. /jim

They may not be "armed" as they have four legs, but the forelegs have two
enormous paws on them with some nasty claws. Useful, and much safer to
treat them as if they have arms (and hands), though, as they can easily
stand on their hind legs.
