Well yes, I'd have to say I qualify as a genuine curmudgeon at times.
When I did my self-portrait for TOPE,

I was going through a period of being quite angry at life - and everything,
really. My self-portrait was an attempt to portray this.
Although the painting in the picture is definitely a favourite of mine, and the
expression on the painted face is probably not intended to be of anger, it
could be construed as such. So I was trying to get the painting to reflect my
inner self.
I'm not like that now - but don't push me ;-)
I don't know if the symbolism? (is that the correct term) worked.
And while I'm on the topic of TOPE; great shot by Dan Danrich.
