Hi Schnozz,

I find it very interesting to read that you have actually bought the
ZoneMasterII and StopClock Professional! I have been seriously
contemplating ordering the Analyser Pro, a somewhat cheaper, simpler
version, from RH Designs in Britain.

So, it's indeed interesting to learn about your experiences with these
"toys". Have you calibrated them for a paper of your own yet?

From this mail I gather that you recommend them so far? ;-)

Of course, news about any problems are also welcome... before I take the plunge
myself.

Well,

I've had very little time to actually USE them in anger, but I
have to say that in my attempts at calibration and some simple
usage has proven that I spent my hard-earned dollars on the
right darkroom equipment.

This enlarger meter is absolutely incredible. It works exactly
the same way as I use the OM-4 in multispot mode. Spot a
highlight, a shadow detail and a couple mid-tones for reference
purposes and the dots on the scale show you the tones for each
reading. Adjust the grade setting and time to move the dots
around to where you want them. The meter tells you what grade
paper and what to program into the timer. It provides you with
decent prints with minimal effort and waste. Of course, it
isn't the end-all, be-all for exposure control, but it gets you
in the neighborhood.

The timer is the cat's meow too, but I haven't been able to
fully grasp all 1,254 functions yet. :-)

I'm VERY pleased. Broke, but pleased.
