Gary...  those of us with eyeglasses avail ourselves of the relief available
with the finder...  it opens up the potential path(s) for stray light to
enter dramatically.  I don't always use a cup (ouch, groin pain) either.....

How is it possible that the exposure would be thrown
off by the viewfinder? You meter/ set exposure with
you eye to the cup(blocking partially or completely
the light with your face). Since the exposure is
mechanical, it doesn't change through the exposure. At
most, I would think that light leakage from the
viewfinder would be only a 1/4 or 1/2 stop off. None
if you were using that rubber eyecup thingy.
