Having lived in the Boston area myself, I have to agree. In fact I once saw
a tour bus driver wearing an "I survived Boston Traffic" t-shirt.
Considering we were both in Michigan at the time, it was quite obvious
Boston had made an impression on him.

I always found "no look" merging to work best in Boston. No signal (someone
will steal the "spot" you are trying to create), don't check the mirrors
(unless you want to die of fright). Just merge like you owned the place, and
the spot to merge into will magically appear.

I agree. I spent the first 20 years of my life in Boston. I had to relearn
to drive in California. When I go back to Boston for a visit and my brother
picks me up at the airport, I am hanging on for dear life the whole way
home.
