Jan Steinman was asking about alternative right angle finders for the OM range. I have a Rowi model that I bought new on e-bay for only $26. Unlike the Olympus model, it gives a correct image (left to right).

I found my Rowi catalogue this morning. The Rowi part number is 2166 (for Olympus OM, Pentax M, Fujica AZ1, Ricoh). It is described as, "Right angle finder for SLR cameras. Rotates through 360 degrees locking at every 90 degrees. Adjustable eyepiece from -2 to +4 diopters."

On the same page of the catalogue Rowi also sell -
"Rubber eye cup with thread for correction lenses".
Part 2177 fits OM.

"Lens reversing rings with diaphragm adapter. The lenses of ... Olympus ... cannot be stopped down when reversed unless the diaphragm operating lever is secured. These adaptors lock the lever"
Part 9516 OM except OM4 49 x 0.75.
Part 9517 OM except OM4 55 x 0.75.
There are two parts to the adaptor - a ring to go between camera and filter thread, and another ring for the exposed back of the lens.
Some epoxy resin might make them suitable for the OM4.

The catalogue is well worth having. It lists many useful items which the average camera shop will tell you do not exist. Rowi products seem to be quite well made. They are now pushing a lot of their accessories for use with video cameras, so if you see any Rowi marked accessories in a shop selling video accessories, they might be able to order other items for you.

My catalogue is some years old now, but at the time of printing -
Rowi International were at Postfach 1809, Robert-Widmer-Str. 4, D-8858 Neuburg/Donau, Germany tel 08431/594-0

The UK Distributor was Wild Leitz in Luton. telephone 01582 404040 / fax 404050
