| Discussion on the Oly board at dpreview has been rife with talk of
the new 4/3 camera lately. Here are some tidbits:
One of the Oly board members...
"I was speaking with an Olympus rep during an Olympus digital demo
and I expressed my interest in what was in the works in the high-end.
He smiled and quietly whispered "April....look for a dSLR in
April..." He also went on to say that it is Olympus' answer to the
D60. We'll see.
Hmm....sounds like 6 megapixels to me...
Now, considering delay times, this may actually turn out to be April
2004, but we can only hope that it is on schedule."
This, apparently from an Olympus employee:
T"he first batch of the Four Thirds System digital SLRs will be
released by Olympus, Fujifilm and Kodak respectively. The cameras
adopt a standard lens mount and image sensor of the same size. Lenses
from different manufacturers are interchangeable. This increases the
choice of lenses available. To shorten development time, the optical
design of the OM System lenses will be modified for use in the Four
Thirds System. "
There is also rumor of an E-30....
Stay tuned....
