The lens is designed by Leica, and I think the camera is made by Panasonic
(Matsushita?). I don't know where it is assembled (China?) nor how much of
the lens/body interface is designed by or made by Leica... I guess its a
global economy, no more elves in Wetzlar making things fit one at a time...
:-(
Of course, in 46 years I bet the Panasonic/Leica digicam doesn't feel as
good as my IIIg does... or my OM-2n's etc.
