Here's a link for Mailwasher, which is a spam eliminator. It goes to your
mail server and downloads the headers only (even with a pop3 server!!).
Then you can decide to keep or bounce the email. It's a small download,
configures itself (almost) automatically by importing your email settings.
I've been using it for a couple of days and is very gratifying to stop spam
at the server.
It is freeware (from New Zealand) but he says if your happy with it, he
accepts donations.

A good email program like Eudora is able to do the same thing.
