That is strange. I called Epson again and they say it is their best selling
scanner and they have no plans to discontinue it. Tons of them here in
Canada. Very strange.

It has certainly been discontinued by the UK's largest computer
retailer (the unloved PC World). I could not get it from a smaller
local retailer either (who can normally get almost anything) but his
supplier was saying "no stock". I did get one from Jessop's but even
they said their supplies are now limited.
