Hi Guys,

Back from my holidays.... did I miss anything exciting/controversial?

I was in Crete... Lovely island that I'd recommend to anyone (although we
know someone that lives there so we had a free personal tour-guide). It was
baking hot and some of the gold-coloured "Passed" stickers melted off of my
camera and a couple of lenses.... Is this something that I should be
concerned about?

Something I've never mastered on a holiday is how to cope with combining our
hobby with the family. Although I had my camera slung round my neck
practically all the time I was also carrying any permutation of
        (1) swimming gear
        (2) beach stuff
        (3) Ice cream
        (4) recently bought presents or other shopping
        (5) kids
        (6) Hire-car steering wheel,
so there were many potentially good shots that I missed because by the time
I'd put down whatever was in my hands the moment had passed. Has anyone got
a way around this or do we just have to be philosophical about it? Having
said that I still managed to fire off 6 rolls of film..

I noticed by the way that the "test" light on my OM2n now flashes. Does this
mean the batteries are going flat?

Changing the subject, there was a thread a while ago about home-made flash
diffusers. I've made a very effective one for my T32 out of a couple of old
Fuji film cases. You need 1 and a half of them, just slit them in half
(lengthways) and trim till the give the amount of curvature you want. Give
it a go... easy and cheap.

See ya,

Sam
