Hi,

First of all thanks everyone for the helpful answers and comments!

I did those stupid map shots to test sharpness but since I'm pleased with
the 'real' shots I'll definitely keep the lens. It seems logical to me that
a (super) wide angle lens is not the best performer at such close distance
but it slightly irritated me when I first examined the images.

Brian, you're right, I've been a little pessimistic. I have to work on this.

Jochen

P.S.: Also thanks for the compliments regarding my web site. I try to keep
it clean but I've already been a little sloppy when I quickly put up some
galleries. I recently created my own Olympus link list. Nothing tremendously
new but at least I can now clean up my 'Favorites' directory. Indeed there's
'not too much stuff', Bob ;-)

Hi Jochen

I suggest you should not be so pessimistic.

Not only is there the possibility, as others have mentioned) of close focus
faults, but also the corner definition at wide open aperture is not so hot.
