In the pass my LS2000 does not provide the resoluton I get with a 10x
loupe+my eye. Now the LS4000ED gives me the scan better than anything I have
including the Lecia color plan projector lens and my 10x loupe, only my
Olympus microscope can beat!

Yes quite grainless.

Use LS4000ED :-)
