yes I agree, that=B4s how it looks.

But, what can I do? Do you think it is possible to disassemble the MD2 to
have a closer look for a loose contact? I am a bit hesitating because I am
not sure what I will get into when I start. And after all, it is not so
bad, just an annoyance.

I'm hesitant to recommend you take the thing apart, without knowing you.  I
have no information on the MD2, e.g. parts or wiring diagram, from any
source.  Perhaps Clint or John can help.  However, were it mine I would try,
very carefully.  Have you checked the basics, though, e.g. are batteries in
right way round (isn't marked on mine) as display is LCDiode, that is
polarity is important. Also are contacts clean? Are you sure batteries are
good (will they power OM2/OM4, etc?
