I wouldn't worry. I'm sure there's a theoretical limit, but that will 
change over time. It wasn't all that long ago that no one thought it 
was possible to put _giga_bytes of information on a 2" diameter disk 
platter. I'm sure the continued technology race will find a way to 
put more CCD elements into a given space.
