The brown flex is in very good shape but the LCD does not
respond properly. It kept on blinking non stop until I
switch it off. I think it may need new batteries. 
I have wound it overnight and it fires very nicely. 
Anyway, thanks for all your suggestions. I have decided
to buy it. Another camera!! This will never end!!
