Well Folks I am just getting around to reading all the posts about the above
subject.
Terrific Shots and interesting reading from parts far away.
I happened to be spending the weekend at the Grand Canyon and the Meteor
shower was a bonus.
It was so clear on Friday night that we went into the woods and just looked
at the stars for a while. I also selected a clearing about 100 yards from
the rim where there were no lights for the Sunday morning display.
Saturday clouded up pretty good and I was not very confident about viewing
conditions. No problem! It was about as clear at 3 AM Arizona time as it
was the night before. Yippeee!!

I have no experience with astro photography but I tried to remember what I
learned from the list. The shower was already started when I got outside
and as planned, set up in the clearing. Displays were almost constant.
Sometimes there was a lull of 2 to 3 minutes before it cranked up again.
Cranked up was about 10 to 20 a minute or so it seemed. We stayed about 45
minutes (it was Cold). When I returned to the room I went out on the
balcony and watched for another 30 minutes.
It was spectacular.

This is the OM content, OM1 with 50mmSC 1.8 at f4. 400 iso Kodak max.
Bulb for from 1 to 3 minutes. I was just hoping to catch one or more in the
frame.
Pictures are at the lab so I have no idea if I got anything. I did get one
hell of an experience though. I will be bragging if I did good and silent
if I crapped out.
