I'm surprised that Gary didn't capture Tamron auctions with other manufacturers' mounts, as the mounts interchange. But anyway this limited data says that the Tokina is slightly more expensive, which is what my acecdotal browsing of these auctions has told me already.

The more interesting data is in his lens tests. The tests of these two lenses indicates that the Tamron he tested was clearly better than the Tokina.

As I said, I love my Tamron and it wouldn't leave me without a fight. >:-|
