Hi Brian,

The Tokina 90mm f2.5 ATX plus matched optical extender, and Vivitar Series 1
90mm
f2.5, also with matched optical extenders come out on top, with the more
advertised
Tamron 90mm f2.5 with tube extender (no matched correcting elements inside)
coming
in a close third.
These focus to 1:2, just like the Zuiko, and with their matched extenders, go
down
to 1:1.
They are much more commonly available used than the Zuiko, especially through
ebay.
Here's an example of the Tokina: (this one's for Nikon)
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1287151884
He has the matched optical extender on a seperate auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1287157721
So, he got $194 total, but the usual is about $150 for both.
Here's an example of the Vivitar (this one's for canon)
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1291312616
This will generally sell for more than the Tokina, because it's more famous
(even
though its the same design, and Tokina made both)
The Tamron is probably the most commonly heard of, so its all over ebay selling
for
about the same as the Vivitar. It's a great lens, but I'd stay with the other 2
if
given the choice.

There are similar lenses by these manufacturers such as 90mm with an F2.8
aperture
instead of F2.5. These also focus completely to 1:1, but as good as they are,
they're just not as good as the ones above.

Just keep on the lookout for an Olympus mount version. It will appear quicker
than
you save the money for the zuikos obscene new price.
