That does seem high, though I find it be an very very good lens. Haven't
tried the fast 35mm and indeed, don't own any kind of 35mm today. With a
40mm there's no need, really.

There is a EX+ 40/2 at KEH for (gulp) $889.00. They had one about a year
ago for $449 that I returned, I did't see that the cost vs perfomance
ratio was there and "settled" for a 35/2 which in IMHO is much better.
