The original Olympus diagrams explaining the difference basically 
said that light going into a digital sensor (CMOS? CCD?) should go 
straight into the sensor, at 90 degrees, not obliquely.

A second problem is that the sensors are very susceptible to dust 
which can get in while changing lenses.
