How about we all torture Ken. Let's all start a donation and set
Ken up with a 21/2, 50/2, 50/1.2, 35-80/2.8, 90/2, 100/2 and
maybe even a 180/2, along with 3 OM-4t bod's. Come on folks, I
bet many of us have more than one of the above. And make sure
they are the latest MC versions too.

Now you're talkin! Actually, I'd be very content with a
replacement 24/2.8 prefer MC (oh, the travesty!) and a 300mm
screw on diopter for the IS-3. Ok, if you want to include a
21mm or some extreme wide-angle, I wouldn't bark. A 90/2 would
be nice... I would be happy to donate the obsoleted equipment
to some other less fortunate OM user!

If this winter is anything like last winter, he will regret
buying that Volvo instead of a Jeep. Speaking of Jeeps, I'm
tempted to rotate my Goodyear Eagles from the Jeep to our 4WD
Mazda MPV and getting some new radical tread tires for the Jeep.
Not that I *NEED* off-road shoes on the Cherokee, but if I get
together with my brothers for another rock-climbing and mudfest
I'll want to do more than sit around videotaping them running
the gauntlets. Unfortunately, I drive 54 miles every day on
I-80. But Cherokees demand aggresive tires to finish off the
"look". I saw an unlifted Cherokee Sport the other day with
31/10.5 tires on it. Boy did it look good. He had to do major
"dremel" work to get the rubbing to stop. None of the
customization was visible, though.

BTW, any Jeep Cherokee people out there with advice regarding
clunking in the rearend? (no refried beans comments) I've
replaced the grease a couple of times now, but it is getting
worse. It has over 140,000 miles on it (just broken in), but
the clunking has been going on for the past 70,000. Does it
need replacing or are there replacement parts available? If it
needs replacing, should I put a positrack rearend in? Lockers
aren't necessary here in Iowa, but I'm thinking a posi would be
nice. Your advice is welcome.

Oops, sorry about the OT JEEP topic. Actually, I'm not overlly
sorry. Jeeps really do make ideal OM carriers and enable us to
get off-the-beaten path and away from the Disneyland crowd. If
we can talk about tripods and camera bags, surely we can talk
about Jeeps. Right? (talk about a stretch).

BTW, my wife came through surgery just fine. She's quite eager
to get on with life now, but the flesh must have time to heal.
Don't think she'll ride in the Jeep for a couple of weeks. But
she does prefer bopping to the store in the Jeep over the
MPV--no problem with parking spots as she can shoehorn the Jeep
OVER just about any Lincoln Continental double parked in the
compact-car spots. Murder on those wheelchair licenseplates,
though.
