If you want to take the judgment of the machine out of the process shoot
slide film and you will get what you expose without so much correction.
Another approach is to take the pictures back that you don't like and show
them how you would like them printed....you may incur some extra cost.

I agree with Mickey's suspicions about WalMart's printer process. One-hour
labs don't always do the best at printing photographs with unusual exposure
conditions.
