I've never done it but it is usually a nightmare if the car wasn't built to
US emissions and crash specs.....there are companies in the U.S. that
specialize in upgrading (?) the car to allow registration. It is very
expensive and is usually reserved for cars that are not otherwise easily
obtained in U.S. ( certain Lamborghinis or Ferraris for instance). I'd
check with Lotus.
