I fought the urge to buy one of these for a month while it just sat there on
the usedphoto.com site (with which I have no affiliation.) I finally caved
yesterday. Paid $140+6 shipping, which Tom Scales informed was a good deal but
not a great one. Moral: It is not only advisable but sometimes possible to
avoid *bay.
BTW, there's still an MC 24/2.8 for sale there for $140, and a 28/2.8 at $60.
Oh yeah, and a 35-70/3.6 for $150, if I remember right.
