Hi,
I think I may attempt to remove the top cover, then
the electronics and the pentaprism so as to remove the
front casting, I should be able to examine the shutter
mechanism to understand it more throughly, I have
downloaded the cameracraftsman pdf for the OM1 which
has given me some clue as to how the thing is put
together. To be honest I bought a couple of Ebay
"non-workers" and I'm considering buying another, I
know the electronics work fine in this one, so its a
matter of getting the thing mechanically to work,
although I have thought of sending the thing off to
John at camtech to be serviced, I can't wait 4-8 weeks
and he's not doing pro-rush stuff at the moment so
I'll try myself. If I can't fix it I'll re-assemble it
completely and send it off.
The weld you mentioned, is it spot welded? If so would
it be possible to re-spot weld it do you think?
