batteries for shutter?

<lots of snippage>

Has the OM-1(n) got a mechanical or electronic shutter? Mechanical. 1 and 1N
both.

Does it need batteries for the shutter? No. Only for the meter. Ditto
models.

The OM-3 doesn't does it, for any shutter speed? That's my understanding.

I thought that the non-electronic shutter might make the OM-3 possible to
repair in the long term (20 years plus) when electronic components might be
not available. Do you disagree? Nope. You could theoretically have a fully
mechanical camera repaired as long as there's someone willing to fabricate
replacement parts, and someone willing to pay for those parts.

If you see anyone selling an OM-3, please tell me! Not until I have my own
:-)

Kind regards,

Dave Bellamy.
